At the end of 2018 we released the news that everyone was waiting for – the 2019 obstacle unveil.
We announced 10 brand new or updated obstacles that will be coming to Tough Mudder courses around the world, including Mudderhorn (the tallest obstacle ever), The Gauntlet (the longest obstacle ever) and Black Widow (the highest rated obstacle at Beta Testing). We’re pretty damn excited about what 2019 has in store.
The even better news is that it doesn’t just end with new obstacles…
1. Electroshock Therapy will be the Tough Mudder Classic Finisher Obstacle in 2019
We heard you Mudder Nation. There’s nothing quite like having to face the threat of 10,000 volts of electricity before you receive your hard-earned headband.
Plus, if we’re honest we missed it too. Watching thousands of Mudders jump, jerk and drop to the mud is really, really fun.
So Electroshock Therapy will return as your Tough Mudder Classic 2019 finisher obstacle, and as always it will be optional.
2. Level Up Lanes are Coming
Choose your challenge, pick your pressure, level up lanes…what are we talking about?
In 2019 several Tough Mudder Classic obstacles will feature three levels of difficulty. So whether it’s your first time and you’re feeling a bit nervous or if you’re ready to really test yourself, there’s an option for you.
Over the course of the next few months we’ll be revealing which obstacles will feature this new design and providing training tips for each level. So stay tuned…
3. More obstacles on course THAN EVER BEFORE
Yes, you read that right. Every Tough Mudder Classic course will feature 25 obstacles along a 1-loop course.
So when you rock up to your chosen Tough Mudder Classic event you can expect 10 new or updated obstacles, plus the highest number of total obstacles to conquer than ever before. Put even more simply – we’re changing 50% of our obstacle menu.
4. 5K is about to get MUDDY
It isn’t just Tough Mudder Classic that’s getting all the good stuff. In 2019 we’re bringing the 5K course to every venue in the UK which means our short format friends are about to get muddy.
Plus we’re adding 3 new obstacles to every 5K course, that’s more than last year.
Loved partying in the city with us? We’ll still be bringing Tough Mudder 5K Urban (without mud and water) to city-centre locations, but we’re also adding three more obstacles to these city courses.
5. A Brand New Finisher T-Shirt
The classic finisher tee. Legionnaires love to collect them, newbies can’t wait to earn one and everyone, EVERYONE, loves to wear theirs to the gym.
In 2019 we’re introducing a brand new sexy, sleek finisher t-shirt to make bragging even more delicious.
6. This isn’t the end of innovation for 2019
For the first time ever we held an obstacle Beta Testing in Europe and we have new obstacle ideas coming out of our ears. What does this mean for you?
Throughout the season we may well be dropping brand new, never-before-seen obstacles without warning just to keep it fresh. So keep your eyes peeled…
