If there’s one thing we can say for sure it’s that the last few months have been tough for everyone. It can be easy to feel down and only see the bad things when something like this happens but we’re incredibly lucky to have a community of people that always manage to bring a smile to the faces at TMHQ. Right back at the start of lockdown we launched our #HelpAHundred initiative in the hope that Mudders all over the world would step up and help those around them in big and small ways. Even now months later we’re still receiving emails and messages highlighting the amazing work Mudder Nation is doing to bring smiles back to faces of those around them. It was an email like this that we received last week which really made us grin.
Fancy Dress Fun
North West Mudder Staci reached out to let us know how Mudders in Stockport were supporting a local initiative to make children in the area smile and raise some money for the NHS. It all started with Jason and Andrew who decided to liven up their daily runs by dressing up as Spiderman (of course). It wasn’t long before word got out about their daily jaunts and soon they were joined by Mudders Staci and her partner Chris (that’s Elsa from Frozen and Superman). There are now around fifty people in the Stockport area, but up to 250 people around the country who dress up as a whole range of characters (from superheroes to princesses – there’s even a Captain Jack Sparrow) to cheer up their neighbourhood.
Well-Deserved Recognition
Having raised almost £50,000 for NHS Charities Together founders Jason and Andrew have been awarded the Point Of Light by Prime Minister Boris Johnson and have also been nominated for a Pride Of Britain award. But we want to give a special thank you to Mudders Staci and Chris for being part of #HelpAHundred and we hope to see them next year out in the thick mud of Tough Mudder North West.
