We’ve created a list of 8 things to bring on event day so that you can enjoy a hassle-free day.
The Tough Mudder season is in full swing, you’ve done all the legwork and we can’t wait to see you out there on the Lidl Mudder course.
Now it’s time to pack, so to take worrying out of the game. Check out the below to make sure your day is full of mud and fun and not stress.
The Eight Things You Need To Bring To Tough Mudder
1. HYDRATION
You’re going to want to walk into Mudder Village with at least two litres of water. Sound excessive? It’s called playing it safe in case you arrive just in time for your start time, you won’t have to walk around in search of some last minute sips.
2. SNACKS
Keep the energy coming by packing a few snacks. Whether it’s for mum, dad, the kids or anybody else, it’s always handy to have some cereal bars or fruit ready. You can also find some options for snacks in the Race Village if you need a top up.
3. CHANGE OF CLOTHES
Every course is different but you’ll be guaranteed that the little ones will cross the finish line with mud in places you didn’t know existed. No one needs to change immediately after crossing the finish line, after all walking filthily around Mudder Village is an essential component of a Lidl Mudder day, but for the sake of the interior of the car or train you’re leaving in, you might want to have a change before you depart. There are rinse stations available, but you’re responsible for a second pair of socks, shoes, underwear, shorts/pants, shirt, jacket (in case it gets cold in the afternoon), and a towel.
4. GLOVES
Yes, your gloves will get wet and muddy too, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely useless. Some Lidl Mudders swear by their trusty gloves to help them through obstacles, others are convinced all they need is a pair of bare hands and the will to survive. What team you fall into is up to you.
5. WEATHER PROTECTION
Here in Britain if there’s only one thing we can predict – it’s the unpredictable weather. Of course it’s a good idea to check what the skies might hold in store on the day of your event but we suggest bringing plenty of layers so you can keep warm and a waterproof for obvious reasons. Maybe whack some suncream on before you head out the door – if by some miracle the sun does put in an appearance we wouldn’t want you or the family to leave redfaced.
6. TICKET & ID
Screenshot the QR code on your confirmation email and bring some ID along for check in. You no longer need to print and sign a waiver as you will sign a digital waiver on the day (saving the planet woo).
7. MONEY
After the Lidl Mudder course has been conquered, you might fancy a walk around the Race Village to take a look at the food, drink and tents. It’s always handy to have some money for ease for anything in the village along with any other transportation costs you may have. All vendors in Mudder Village are card only.
8. PEOPLE
Yes, we’re talking about last-minute texts, phone calls and e-mails to family, friends and co-workers to either come run Tough Mudder with you or watch as a spectator. Your main selling points are trying something new, challenging yourself and partying afterwards. Plus, the “what else are you going to be doing?” argument. The words Tough Mudder are infectious to people of all fitness levels: once someone plants the bug to another and they both agree, it’s hard to convince both of them NOT to follow through with their decision to try a Tough Mudder.
Lidl supports the NSPCC’s Childline Service. You and your Lidl ones can support Childline too, by getting a Lidl Mudder place and raising money to protect children. Find out more here.
You’re nearly ready to go. Make sure you bring these 8 things with you on event day and then run wild.
